Port of Brisbane Pty Ltd (PBPL) is pleased to share that The Forgotten Women has been selected as its Employee Charity for 2026/27.
Founded by Mangrove Housing Ltd, The Forgotten Women provides safe and secure housing for women over 55. With people over 55 accounting for one in seven Australians experiencing homelessness, and older women the fastest-growing cohort, its work is more important than ever.
PBPL CEO, Neil Stephens, said the Port was proud to support The Forgotten Women, a locally-based organisation creating real impact.
“We thank The Forgotten Women for the important work they’re doing in our community, helping women regain stability and age in place without fear of homelessness,” said Mr Stephens.
“Last year our employees raised a record $67,500 through a range of fundraising initiatives, including BBQs and recycling efforts, for our 2025/26 Employee Charity, Challenge DV,” Mr Stephens said.
“PBPL was also very proud to dollar-match the money raised by our people. I’m looking forward to the great ideas our team will come up with this year to help raise much-needed funds for The Forgotten Women.”
